Global Change Award
Today, the fashion industry puts great pressure on our planet. What if we could make a shift to circular fashion with no waste, no emissions and no pollution?
This means changing the way garments are designed and produced, shipped, bought, used and recycled, by adding disruptive technology or new business models. All with the purpose of creating a closed loop where resources are used and reused indefinitely. We are looking for early stage ideas that present new circular approaches across the value chain. This year we’re keeping an extra eye out for innovations within;
Digital & Data
Circular pioneer's able to connect the dots (and data-sets) throughout the fashion value chain.
Solutions aiming increase the lifetime of clothes, reduce water use during laundry, eliminate micro plastics, make recycling easier or nudging sustainable attitudes and behaviours.
From fashion piece to the package it travels in, design with a circular intent could prove crucial to reduce the impact of the clothes we choose to wear.
By applying to Global Change Award you take on one of the biggest challenges facing today’s fashion industry – to create fashion for a growing population while protecting the planet.
What you win
The five winners of Global Change Award share a 1 million euro (approx. CNY 7,9M) grant and get access to a one-year long Innovation Accelerator Program, designed to help them bring their innovations to market.
The accelerator is run by H&M Foundation together with our partners Accenture and KTH, Royal Institute of Technology in Stockholm. To connect the teams with the industry and to boost their exposure and confidence, we take them on three intensive immersion weeks in Stockholm, New York and Hong Kong. In between these trips, the winners work from their home countries with access to virtual sessions and personal assistance from all three partners of the Global Change Award.
